Sew a Garment a Month Entry

Lekala 5425

My plan for March 2014 is a fitted blouse with contrasting yokes, collar and a slot seam on the cuff.
I will not be making it western style. I will remove the points on the yokes and adding a sleeve placket. I also will be making it longer and maybe making the collar a bit smaller and the band a bit wider. I have never made a fitted blouse before so truly this is a March Challenge.
My other challenge will be the front band and its edge stitching. I plan on making some sort of jig to press to so I can get the straight and even. Same for the sleeve plackets.

My Inspiration
Lekala 5425I have never made a slot seam so I thought I would give it a try with the contrasting floral fabric. The fabric is 100% cotton shirting from Stone Mountain & Daughter in Berkeley
